Energy use in the USA and where it goes

Shown in figure 1 is an estimate as to where the energy in the US is actually consumed. By looking into true consumption way may be able to delve in closer to what the true problem is and also look forward to a true solution. It is apparent that gasoline is a very large consumer of the over all energy consumption of the United States, with it nearing 40% of the total consumption across the board. In the following figure 2, shows what source of fuel comes in and also in regards to what division of energy use it fits into.

Petroleum though is not the only over consumer of energy in the United States. The use of coal and natural gas runs very high in the electrical power and residential/commercial sectors.  To come to a conclusion on the energy consumption in the United States, I think it would be safe to say that "Non-Renewable s" is where the vast majority of consumption takes place. This is where changes can be made for the consumption of the United States.
